More Information
This balm is quite heavy. I make it that way for a couple of reasons; it lasts longer (a little goes a long way!) and it doesn't melt down as fast in warm weather conditions. If you need to use it on bigger surface areas of your body and want it to spread easier and faster, here are a few tricks:
1. Place a large amount in the palm of your hand (scrape it out with the back of your thumb nail!) and really mush it up, hold it till it's nice and warm, then spread.
2. Do the above, plus add a generous amount of the Hydrosol Mist Dry Skin Relief, mix well in the palm of your hand, then spread.
3. Do all the above and apply just after you've had a nice hot shower or bath, and while your skin is still warm and damp.
There are some products out in the market place that are called dry skin hand-bars, or various other terms. To use our "Serious" Balm as a "hand-bar" simply put the jar in the freezer before you ever use it the first time. When it is cold, you can turn the jar up-side-down and tap it on the counter till the balm comes loose from the jar. Take it out and use it like you would use a bar of soap. When you put it back in the jar, it should be easy to take out again to use in this fashion as long as the balm doesn't get warm enough to again adhere to the sides and bottom of the jar.
This balm seems to help dry scaly skin associated with psoriasis. For some folks it even helps with the itching, though the Eczema and Itch Relief is still better for the itchy symptoms. I have some customers who will use the Eczema and Itch Relief on the area of concern first, then apply the "Serious" Balm over the top. This seems to be the best way to control the itching and the dryness all at once.
Also, the Hydrosol Mist for Dry Skin Relief seems to help some people with psoriasis, and other itchy, scaly skin conditions. Some use it in combination with the "Serious" Balm, some use it with the Eczema and Itch Relief, and some use it just by itself. You'll need to experiment and see what works best for you.
